H.P. Lovecraft Would Love This Little Fella'...

A few years back, I discovered the horror novels of Caitlin Kiernan, starting with her wonderfully creepy modern take on the Cthulhu Mythos, Threshold. A paleontologist by trade, an important player in her novel was an ancient (375-400 million year old) trilobite, Dicranurus monstrosus, known for its rather bizarre appearance, which includes what appears to be a pair of ram's horns. I ran across some pics of that very trilobite on eBay and it is a strange-looking little monster...
